Originally from Wisconsin, I moved to Seattle, WA in 1977, fresh out of college with a degree in Early Childhood Education and eager to begin teaching. Alas and alack; I needed more coursework to get credentials in Washington. It took persistence and a little bit of luck, but finally in 1982 I got my first kindergarten classroom. I have taught kindergarten in four different public schools in Seattle. Teaching Kindergarten is my niche, my forte, a career choice I have never regretted. I’ve been at Sanislo Elementary since 1993, loving learning right alongside my young students. I’ve gone from chalkboard and dittos to white board and document camera, and now I am exploring the use of blogging to share classroom experiences on the world wide web.
